tekboy,

Actually, I can understand Moore's backpeddling. I'm very conscious of what I write because I don't want to accidentally mislead someone about my impressions. Yet every once in a while someone asks about what I wrote, causing me to respond, "If I wrote that, I shouldn't have," or something to that effect. One time I had a pleasant exchange with a person on the Q - S&P thread who presented me with my seemingly contradictory posts that were about six months apart. He rightfully required an explanation and got one to the best of my ability.

In summary, if Moore is spread as thin as many of us are, I don't find him at fault for not remembering the details of his conclusion. Instead, I praise the power of the interactive world that allows all of us to reconsider our thoughts in their full context and encourages us to think before we write, knowing there are any number of people who will rightly hold us accountable for what we write.

And we know that he was quoted very recently as saying JDSU was in the same category as Q, a possible young gorilla.

Do we know the quote is accurate and presented in accurate context? I don't remember the article.
