Fido made at least 30K off me in commissions last year, and I told them to screw it due to their ridiculous margin requirements on concentrated positions. If you threaten to leave, they might offer to "bend the rules". After all, it is kind of ridiculous--when you hold an ITM contract till expiry, they exercise it for you on Fri and sell on Mon...where did the money come for the strike? They "front" it to you, so why can't you continue to hold? I don't understand them, and their margin audits give me the creeps.
