Their is no incentive to selling PCs with an offer for a free service to AV. In reality, what is a free copy of AOL good for when you can get AV and others free and other good ISPs for half the cost of AOL. Is value added by AOL worth another $10 per month? For a new PC owner they are better off with a free service until they know what they need. Repeat PC buyers probably already have a service. My guess is that the free services will continue to increase prices by adding new services for a price, more mail storage, bigger files, and in that way they will make a profit.
