Jim - CPQ appears to be unique in addressing this issue early and proactively... Although it has nothing to do with CPQ hardware, it is in a sense created by the large number of "included" programs that the Presario people loaded onto the high end systems. DELL, GTW and Micron systems also experience the problem, in fact every machine using Windows since 1986 has experienced the problem and there is plenty of info on the various company websites about it including MSFT. The combination of Win98 second edition, which used a lot of resource all by itself, and the other "resident" programs that people think they need seems to have made it a lot more visible.
