Now do we believe the DB analyst . . on his own . .. went out on the limb . . . and predicted an uptick in deal announcements? I have my doubts that backbones grow that strong on Wall Street without a little help.

I strongly suspect the company (or just conceivably PFE) was murmuring sweet somethings into this analyst's ear:

"... expected a major acceleration in revenue growth
driven by Incyte's recent strong deal activity to become
apparent when the company reports fourth-quarter 1999 results
in the second half of January."

What was that SEC statement about selective disclosure again?
