I mentioned this last week. It looks like a win-win for INPR. THey eliminate the development costs of a non-performing product, while looking like a "revolutionary" in the open source world. The do not appear to be abandoning the installed base, as now IB can live as the market dictates. Small db dev shops can enhance and sell the product, etc.

I think that it is a pretty smart strategic move. It positions INPR as much more forward thinking than the competition. Never mind that open source has not been proven as a viable long-term business strategy, it is one of the "hot topics de jour".
