David, *if* it was a short cover, they could have shorted back in late April/early May
when IDX was around 12-1/2.
By closing the position today (vs. last Thurdsay) taxes on the short term gain wouldn't be due until April 2001.

-hope that has something to do with the high quality source you mentioned a while ago :-)
