<The 1247 will cost $1,400, use a 400MHz chip, come with 32MB of memory, a 4.3GB hard drive, a 24X CD drive, 4MB of VRAM and a 12.1 HPA screen.
The 1200XL106 will cost $1,500, come with a 475MHz K6-II, 32MB of memory, a 5.0GB hard drive, a 24X CD, and 4MB of shared VRAM. It will have a 13.0-inch HPA screen.
The 1200XL110 will cost $1,800, come with a 475MHz processor, have 1MB of L2 cache, a 6GB hard drive, again a 24X CD, 4MB of VRAM, and use a 12.1-inch TFT screen.
And the 1200XL111 will use a 500MHz AMD K6-II, come with 64MB memory, 256K of L2 cache, have a 6GB hard drive, a 6X DVD drive, and 4MB of VRAM. We have no price for this item as yet.
The last model, the catchily named 1600XL145, uses a Pentium III/500MHz mobile, again has a six speed DVD drive, comes with 64MB of memory, has 8MB of shared VRAM and uses a 14.1-inch TFT screen. >
Note the models, MHZ and ASP. SOmething strange here. The 1247 (first item) is based on 400MHz k6-2 and 1200 family (remaing items except PIII) members are 475MHz and up. I wonder if this is a mistake or if the 1200 family laptops are K6-2+ based SKUs.
Anyways, this should compete very nicely with the Celeron based laptops for the next few quarters. (I don't see these as competition to PIII based laptops).
Looks like we may have an exciting week ahead.
