Hi Greg Re: old browsers

From your link

<They said it was not the millennium bug that stopped people accessing their cash or investment balances but the fact that they were using a version of the Netscape (NYSE:AOL - news) browser due to expire at the end of 1999.>

Wow, a little confusion :}

''But only a few people were affected, less than 10 percent, and for them it only means going into our homepage and getting an updated version and it will all work OK again.''

Nice find, a good example of what could have happened. Too many like that & I could see why it might have been even harder to download an updated browser as if it's not hard enough now. This is one instance where my second phone line was worth it in that I got IE 5 that way.

<Sorry, I responded without first checking the link you provided>

Don't be, I'm just looking for some technical input explaining some of the issues. I'm sure we will see it in a week or so in that its usual for news to slow around Jan 1 or @ least it's been my experience. Ill generally see it in a hard copy somewhere first & will post one, time permitting & if someone else doesn't.

Still knocking on wood but flawless day here & I had a gob of time in Y2k fixes. Probably end up being the best day of the year. ggg Wife went to pick up her prescriptions today & was told they weren't covered anymore. Human error? Probably Not!

Thanks & back to my workout,

Dug
