First, the article exaggerates the prevalence of Deism among the Founders, by concentrating on Jefferson. Second, I am not a Christian, and have merely been defending the respect for religion that the Founders evidenced, and the sensitivity to the religious sentiments of the populace. Third, I am not unfamiliar with Mr. Jefferson's opinions.......
