Bill, I'm sure the new Compaq Presarios will have USB 1.0 ports, since ALL of the Athlon chipsets include it for free. The fact that these new machines will include firewire 1394 as well is a good selling point, since digital camcorders are flooding the market at sub-$1000 prices and firewire PCI cards cost $100 to $200.

Intel is trying to get everybody to support their USB 2.0 standard which only their future chipsets will support. But there are NO camcorders or other peripherals that support USB 2.0.
