Mike, thanks for the article. I read it once but I think I need to read it a few more times. <g>
I'm still interested in the breadth of the bubble and the impact on the overall market when it's pricked. Metaphorically, is it like a bulge in an inner tube that when pierced deflates the whole tire? Or is it more like "bubble" wrap? <g>
I was amazed at the high P/E of the Nasdaq less the Nasdaq 100. From the Nasdaq site I calculated a P/E of 351 for this segment.
But looking further, I found forty Nasdaq companies, (not in the Naz100), that had cumulative losses of ~$20 Billion. By my calculations these 40 co's contributed over 275 points to that P/E. (I am assuming that the net income numbers for the NASDAQ are the sum total of all the pluses and minuses). And if I expand the list to 100 company's?
When the dot.com's come crashing back to reality, (for which I have no doubt), will there be universal pain in the market, or will it be constrained to that segment?
