Mark - <Has anyone heard of the "bug" in the Intel 677 or 733 processor that causes one to stop and start the computer twice before it actually turns on again? (The first time you turn it off and back on, it doesn't turn on.)
I now have a 677 and it is doing this, and seem to remember something about the problem in the press, but I can't seem to find any news releases or information on this subject, either on Intel's site or on MicronPC's (where I bought it) site>

With the stipulation that Intel has a 667 PIII, not "677", this unfortunately sounds like your processor may be afflicted with errata E61 (Intermittent Failure to Assert ADS during Processor Power on).

I would suggest contacting Micron customer support and providing them with detailed symptoms, and query them for modes of redress if this is in fact the problem.

I sincerely hope you find satisfactory redress.
