E.piphany says Xerox to install its E.4 system January 4, 2000 05:31 AM Eastern Time SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan 4 (Reuters) - E.piphany Inc. EPNY , a supplier of Internet customer management software, on Tuesday said copier maker Xerox Corp. XRX would install E.piphany's E.4 system.
E.piphany said International Business Machines Corp. IBM has been contracted by Xerox to oversee the integration of the E.piphany system.
"The E.piphany E.4 system allows large organisations such as Xerox to obtain valuable insight into customers' individual needs and behaviour enabling them to focus on finding new ways to serve the customer," E.piphany President and Chief Executive Officer Roger Siboni said.
The software will allow Xerox to track customer buying preferences, customer satisfaction and loyalty. Xerox will also use it to develop account profitability reports.
"These reports will enable us to truly understand what our customers need and how we can most effectively deliver against those needs," said Nina Smith, chief marketing officer for Xerox.
In trading on Monday, E.piphany shares fell 20-7/8 to 202-1/4 on Nasdaq, while Xerox shares rose 1-1/2 to 24-3/16 on the New York Stock Exchange. IBM shares rose 7-9/16 to 115-9/16 on the NYSE.
