EarthLink Welcomes Entire Families to the Net; EarthLink's Family Pack Gives Members Up to Five Additional Email Boxes for $2 Extra

PASADENA, Calif., Jan 4, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- With the introduction
of its new Family Pack service add-on, EarthLink (NASDAQ: ELNK) today
proved how a few extra email addresses can really make the Internet a
rewarding experience for each member of the household.

The $2 Family Pack option now lets EarthLink members establish up to
five additional mail boxes, each of which includes a customizable
Personal Start Page and 6 MB of personal WebSpace.

Family Pack was created to complement the next-generation EarthLink 5.0
software's profile management capabilities. Using EarthLink 5.0, all
email, bookmark, filter and other settings are globally configured with
the click of a button, allowing seamless switches from one user profile
to another without having to reconfigure or reload new software.

As a result, up to six people in a household can share one EarthLink
account that remembers each individual's password, mailbox settings and
customized profile of user preferences. So, when dad is done checking
stocks and sports scores on his Personal Start Page, his daughter can
switch over to her profile, check her filter-protected EarthLink mail
box for new messages, send messages to her Instant Messenger buddies
and update her own 6 MB Web site.

"Family Pack will make it much easier for entire families to surf the
Net. Mom, dad and the kids can share a machine and an EarthLink
account, yet still have their own individual mailboxes and settings,"
said Tom Andrus, senior director of consumer product management at
EarthLink. "People don't need EarthLink 5.0 to enjoy Family Pack. But
it is a perfect combination because Family Pack will allow people to
take advantage of EarthLink 5.0's convenient personality management
features. EarthLink members will be able to shuffle between multiple
users as easy as changing TV channels."

Any $19.95 EarthLink Sprint consumer dial-up account is eligible for a
$2 Family Pack upgrade, and each email box comes with its own Personal
Start Page and 6 MB free space on EarthLink's Web servers. To sign up
for Family Pack, EarthLink members can either call 1-800-EARTHLINK or
visit earthlink.net.
