Chinadotcom <CHINA.O> says reaches two mln users HONG KONG, Jan 4 (Reuters) - Internet portal operator Chinadotcom Corp said on Tuesday it registered two million users in early January, up from 400,000 users in June 1999. The Nasdaq-listed Greater China integrated web portal operator, headquartered in Hong Kong, said its aggressive marketing programme, acquisitions and a majority-owned joint venture contributed to the growth. Chinadotcom operates websites in mainland China (www.china.com, www.cww.com), Hong Kong (www.hongkong.com) and Taiwan (www.taiwan.com), the Web Connection applications business (www.webconnection.com) and 24/7 Media Asia online advertiser. It formed e-Direct in December with Taiwan-based Ethernet networking hardware maker Accton Technology Corp <2345.TW> to provide e-commerce and direct marketing services. Chinadotcom shares climbed US$15.375 (HK$119.46) or 19.55 percent to US$94.00 overnight.
