Good morning Frank. A disaster does not look imminent. What's a cpl of hundred points here and there and things look already better at this time. Your Legato is actually up and so is Intc with a new price target of 120. Of course MER had to put a damper on Dell and calls it neutral. I think we will have to get used to big swings in the market.

Hopefully things look even better by the end of the day.

Byron Wien of MSDW has his usual bearish stance. He calls for a 25% decline at some point. He has been calling for a decline forever. I am sure there is still plenty of portfolio adjustment going on. Some are selling now since profits don't get taxed until next year and some will come into the market with money plentiful after bonusses etc. As long as the DOW and the NAZ are up at the end of the year.

Mr. Clinton seems to be renominating A. Greenspan if he wants the job.

What else would those economists at the brokerage houses talk about if it were not for interest rates? They have to make their cos. some money somehow. Buying and selling is more profitable for those cos. than just buying. gg.

Sonny
