It's when Intel chips run Microsoft oSs that they are scalability challenged.

Win9x certainly helps to throttle the performance; NT less so, but there is also a real contrast here between RISC and CISC and between the kind of system architecture which RISC manufacturers use and the vast bulk of Intel-based architectures.
