Constant, accepting cash payouts from lobbyists is pure corruption I agree.

But can't you see that there is something disingenuous about taking a resource such as box seats at a sporting event... say the season for the box costs in the multi-thousands... and then when some representative is offered attendance at a game there - claiming that they "received" $8000 and are therefore corrupt?

When you eat a piece of fruit at work or a cup of coffee (that they provide), do you include it as income on your tax return? Do you think everyone should? How about a t-shirt... or a corporate xmas party? I was once invited to a xmas party at Oracle, where I was consulting at a company that was an Oracle customer... say the party was $1K/person - am I corrupt? By your standards, yes I think.
