What fundamentals will help you invest? First, company conditions should not have any chance of sudden death. Then look at the number of institutions invested in the company. Look at their net worth. Lastly look at the number of market makers listed to determine the liquidity of the stock. In the case of NYSE, brokerages do 93% of trading and the specialist only trade 7%. In the case of overbought in a NYSE stock, pull back can be severe, unless institutions can overcome the brokerages and cause a short squeeze.
So much for that. Even though I ran companies and can do fundamental accounting analysis on value and equity evaluation; market condition is more fundamental than the actual condition of the company in question. After all, companies can be easier to turn around.
