Alex, I have subsequently found a copy of the GSII/Ethicon agreement on EDGAR, 12/96 10K filing as i recall. the guaranteed payments will amount to approx 50 mill over 9 mos ending 6/97 and are to provide a gross margin that in essence covers operating expenses thru 6/97. the agreement further indicates some levels of product purchases but quantities were deleted and i was unable to determine any sales (dollar) volume estimates going forward. Also have discussed GSII with my neighbor, an Ethicon rep, who sells these very products. yes they are real and will take time to train sugeons in their use. he opines that the product currently is one of the better products in this market but certainly not the only product and not an easy sale to replace competing devices... he was also somewhat concerned about newcomers in this arena.... and is taking a wait and see attitude about GSII.... probably more so in light of today's big fall in price
