Displaytech Unveils Microdisplay Panel for HDTV At Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas

Who: Displaytech. The only company in the world making
micro-ferroelectric liquid crystal displays (FLCD)s for
consumer electronics applications.

What: LightCaster(R) microdisplay panel. The world's only consumer
high-resolution FLCD. LightCaster is a significant advance in
miniature displays for projection TVs, video cameras,
head-mounted displays, computer monitors, advanced mobile
electronics, or any video application. It is featured in
Samsung Electronics' new high-definition televisions this year
at CES.

Product Specs:
Resolution: 1280 X 786 pixels
Active area: 16.9 X 10.14 mm
Array diagonal: 0.78"

Where: The Displaytech/Samsung booth in Upside's Digital Living Room
Pavilion (#6748), as well as in Samsung's corporate booth
(#N117).

When: January 6 - 9, 2000

Why: With Displaytech's 15 years of industry experience and
77 patents, the company's FLCDs represent a significant
breakthrough in video technology. Samsung is the first
Displaytech customer to utilize FLCDs in a consumer application
and the results are startling.

-- Full color, full motion for all video applications
-- High contrast for easy visibility
-- High resolution for the latest digital content
-- Low power consumption saves money and battery life
-- Low cost makes FLCD attractive to OEMs and consumers alike
-- Small and lightweight allowing for a broader range of
applications and smaller form factors

No other technology available today offers a combination of
features as attractive as FLCDs. For this reason, FLCDs are
positioned to be the technology of choice for all future video
applications.

Haviland Wright, Displaytech's CEO and a visionary in the video
display market, will be at CES and will address the uniqueness
of FLCD and all of its future applications -- from HDTVs and
digital cameras to wireless applications and wearable
computers. LightCaster-powered HDTVs will be on display in
both the Displaytech booth and Samsung's.
