I described my experience with cooled electronic systems several months ago:

Given what I know of the reliability headaches of cooled systems, I agree with Tony that cooling for a 6 percent gain in performance is absurd. I have used cooling to reduce the thermal noise of electronic systems, and for this application, cooling boosts the system performance by several orders of magnitude. Cooling a PC for a 6% gain in speed will show an extremely poor engineering judgement , since the cost of cooling and mantainence is extremely high.
