Stan, The lack of revenues, my belief in the GG and the fact Q already owns a piece of Globalstar, and that Q will be making handsets/CDMA chips for this market segment is why I am not in G*, though I've followed it since last Spring. The GSTRF system is CDMA, base stations, technology, etc. GSTRF has developed a go anywhere wireless phone system that will be primarily satelite. The system would also roam on digital CDMA (SprintPCS) systems. Also unused bandwith available will be used for HDR, anywhere in the world HDR data service for internet connections. The use of the phone with roaming is this, you are traveling in NYC and lose the satelite, you switch to CDMA PCS network without interuption. The other more likely scenario is you have a Sprint PCS phone and it roams on GSTRF system so you have coverage everwhere. GSTRF is signing partners for satelite roaming and this is the most likely source of revenue rather than satelite phones roaming on land based systems. The system will become an integral part of the global, national and local wireless service system. The system is an adjunct to CDMA systems already in place. The concept of primary revenue GSTRF phone booths in remote parts of the world is bears talking, sure we could see them as a service but not as an important part of the network. Only about 20 percent of the US has cell phone coverage and many areas will never have it because of the economics involved in setting up the system but GSTRF satelite phones will be available. Picture this, you have a Sprint PCS digital/analog phone and are traveling cross country. Many local analog cellular companies have roaming agreements but the charges are approaching $3.00 a minute in some areas. Then imagine this, you have a Sprint PCS Digital/Satelite roaming phone and cross the country and you will never be out of a service area service and the roaming rate will be about $.50 a minute. GSTRF has a unique franchise with disruptive innovation and the cost to impliment the service is so low that we will see a seamless transition to CDMA go anywhere phones. Gorilla?
