So the leverage is crying out to be had, and too tempting to not do it. By doing your stock to options swap, you reduce margin (maybe), you remove the pain of watching daily, and move your time frame out a year or more with greater leverage to boot. With a stock like QCOM, the logic behind it is very sound. The only possible negatives would be a bad market for the whole time frame of the options and the remote possibility of the company to screw-up or it's technology to be rendered obsolete, both of which are very unlikely to happen to QCOM.
