So does this not beg the question ?

If a person LETs themself be fooled, why ?

The above statement is not babble,
as under certain conditions
a person is either looking for a set of circumstances
or a set of conditions
or a process
or whatever
that will allow them to obtain or enter a desired state,
as in to modify or change a current state of affairs.

Now that statement that begged a question, now leads to the question
changing into a cause & effect reflection to enter the past to predict
the future.
