No. And they didn't miss THEIR OWN GUIDANCE in either quarter. They only missed what other people hoped/predicted they would make. >

There are only two numbers for all practical purposes, consensus and whisper. Intel clearly missed.I would say if you take the time to go and do some digging you will find that mainstream analyst community and media agrees with my view.

Analysts don't come up with estimates out of thin air. Estimates were what they were and Intel didn't guide those down and fell short. Clearly we see this thing differently.

P.S.: My take is that Intel could have guided down but tried until the last minute to make the estimate and failed. Having fallen short, the management team followed that with positive spin to manage the stock price.
