What if I also told you this company makes a lot of their sales supporting the internet infrastructure and has close ties to AOL? Compared to Intel's $28.8B/yr in sales and Microsoft's $20.9B/yr in sales, $12.4B may not sound like much but when a company of this size decides to use Rambus, investors should take notice. The company with $12.4B in sales is Sun Microsystems. The new microprocessor is called Majc. sun.com In order for Sun to dramatically grow revenue, they must compete with Intel and Microsoft at the consumer level. Majc is what Sun is developing to help them accomplish this. abcnews.go.com More information on Majc can be found at: sun.com Will Sun be successful in taking market share from Intel and Microsoft? I don't know, but they are definitely a serious competitor and they are heavily plugged into the internet. Expect to see a lot more press in the future on Majc. At some point, the press and the investment community will pick up on this.
