Taiwan's Utd Micro May Announce Worldwide Merger -Report TAIPEI (Dow Jones)--United Microelectronics Corp. (Q.UME) may announce a merger with Worldwide Semiconductor Manufacturing either Thursday or Jan. 15, the Chinese-language Economic Daily News said Wednesday. An official at UMC was unable to comment on the report.
