As I watched some of the celebrations of the new year from around the world--the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower, the wonderful dance from South Africa--and listened to the news reports that the lights were still on everywhere and the terrorists didn't spoil the party, I couldn't help being inspired by how people together could make things work. It was a great entrance into the (alleged) new millennium. Then I checked this board. What a let down! At first there were a few gracious statements and some kissing and making up. Then things deteriorated into the same old posturing and bickering and validation seeking. More sad than amazing. I guess the human race still has a way to go. Karen
