Chunghwa Telecom plans to adopt the yet-to-be commercialized IS-95C CDMA standard, which offers transmission speed at up to 114kbps, far faster than the 9.6kbps provided by the digital GSM system. The telephone carrier will use the 64kbps specification until the 114kbps system hits the market.

This is pretty good news....it shows that operators are beggining to understand that IS-95 will allow the cheapest upgrade path to 3G. I believe that IS-95C is the standard name for 1xrtt.....

Nokia doesnt have a CDMA infrastructure division so they couldn't be involved....I also didnt know that Alcatel DID have a CDMA license. Interesting....
