Heinz, I think deflation will eat away at S&P 500 profits. There is no indication yet that this is happening -- no large reduction in future earnings estimates yet. This can't possibly be factored in the market yet. So if this does become realized, I think there will be a slow and volatile drift downward -- no crash.
