(COMTEX) B: LINUX BUSINESS EXPO EXPANDS ACROSS NORTH AMERICA AFTER OUTSTANDING LAUNCH 3 NEW SHOWS ANNOUNCED AND ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS ANNOUNCED

NEEDHAM, Mass., Jan 5, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- After the
overwhelming debut of LINUX Business Expo during COMDEX/Fall '99, ZD
Events today announced that the LINUX Business Expo family of events
will expand to 4 annual events in North America. A 10-member LINUX
Business Expo 2000 Advisory Board has also been announced to assist ZD
Events in directing the events and selecting conferences themes and
tracks.

LINUX Business Expo has been established as a forum for business
managers, IT and IS professionals, technology channel professionals,
developers and ISPs to learn more about making an enterprise investment
in Linux. "The world felt the impact of LINUX this past November in Las
Vegas with the record-breaking debut of LINUX Business Expo," said
Sonny Saslaw, General Manager of LINUX Business Expo. "With this event,
we've positioned LINUX as an alternative choice for the enterprise and
the momentum is continuing to grow as more and more professionals look
for LINUX product and education."

The debut event, co-located with COMDEX/Fall '99 at the Las Vegas
Hilton, included over 68 companies and attracted well over 38,000
business-to-business buyers. In recognition of the show's vision and
impact, Byte.com awarded LINUX Business Expo "Best of Show," marking
the first time a media outlet has recognized a tradeshow event with an
award. The re-sign for LINUX Business Expo Las Vegas 2000 surpassed the
allotted floor space, which forced show management to redraw the 2000
floorplan into a larger hall, expanding the exhibit area by 25%.

In 2000, LINUX Business Expo will run in four North American locations:
Chicago, Illinois; Toronto, Ontario; Atlanta, Georgia; and Las Vegas,
Nevada. April 17-20, LINUX Business Expo will run alongside
COMDEX/Spring and WINDOWS WORLD 2000 in Chicago at McCormick Place.
From July 12-14, LINUX Business Expo will run alongside COMDEX/Canada
2000, WINDOWS WORLD and NetWorld+Interop in Toronto at the Metro
Toronto Convention Centre. Next, LINUX Business Expo will appear in
Atlanta with NetWorld+Interop, September 25-29 at the Georgia World
Congress Center. Finally, LINUX Business Expo will round out its annual
schedule with a return to the Hilton in Las Vegas alongside COMDEX/Fall
2000, November 13-17.

The LINUX Business Expo Advisory Board for 2000 stands as a "who's who"
of the Linux community and represents players from key Linux vendors,
associations and educational organizations:
-- Larry Augustin, President/CEO, VA Linux Systems
-- Lyle Ball, Vice President/Marketing Communications, Lineo
-- Mark Bolzern, CEO, Linux Mall
-- Jon "Maddog" Hall, Executive Director, Linux International (Advisory
Board Chairman)
-- Greg Hankins, Founding Member, Atlanta Linux Showcase
-- Bill Peterson, Analyst, IDC
-- Don Rosenberg, President, Stromian Technologies
-- David Sifry, Chief Technical Officer, Linuxcare
-- Dean Taylor, Vice President/e-Channel, Caldera Systems
-- Linux Torvalds, Founder, Linux Operating System
