well here's my thoughts:

1) you can't judge a company's growth on service alone... ie: AOL - they suck yet look at their growth last 5 years

2) I own more SCH than I do egrp... the options of SCH are better priced anyway

3) OLBs are making a fortune with all the trading..esp. SCH and EGRP.. and I dont see the stocks staying down much longer... I just got in recently so I'm only down a little

4) If these OLBs dont produce higher prices by mid to end of Feb.. then I'll likely move on and come back into OLBs in the fall..

5) There have been alot of PRs out lately with analysts upgrading or raising targets on SCH and EGRP... and volumes this year are expected to be higher than last.. that means "GROWTH"... so while the rest of the market is beating these down.. I'm buying.. but like i said.. if within 6 weeks they dont look good.. then maybe I will hedge and switch over to some puts.. downside looks minimal at this point..

6) However, I will feel better in early feb when we find out what the Fed does.. that decision will hang over the OLBs and financials for awhile.. but I'm still thinking that the earnings due out this month will prove enough to the market to warrant higher prices ; SCH preannounced.. but I think investors are waiting to see the real thing.. not just estimates

jim

ps.. thanks VERY much for your thoughts.. professionally said
