The National Post reports in its Wednesday, Jan. 5, edition that Potash gained $1.50 to end the day at $70.50, as Agrium took the same route closing at $12.50 up $1.30, yesterday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The National Post's Market Action column reports that Deutsche Bank boosted Agrium's 12-month target price to $14 (U.S.) from $12 on Monday, based on increased attention on the nitrogen and potash sector and what an analyst called the company's impressive asset base. Agrium closed down 3/8 at $8 9/16 in New York after trading higher on Monday. Deutsche Bank's research singled out Potash to benefit from the expected increase in nitrogen and phosate prices. However, Potash was maintained a "hold" at CIBC World Markets with a 12-month target of $75 a share.
