Parametric Technology Corp. Receives $5.8 Million Order for Pro/ENGINEER Software, Services from INA

WALTHAM, Mass., Jan 5, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Parametric Technology Corporation (NASDAQ:PMTC) today announced
that it received a $5.8 million order for Pro/ENGINEER software and services from INA Werk Schaeffler oHG of Herzogenaurach,
Germany. The software portion of the order was shipped to the company during PTC¡¦s first fiscal quarter (ended January 1, 2000).

INA has been a PTC customer since March 1999 when it placed an initial order for more than 300 seats of Pro/ENGINEER
mechanical design software. With this new order, INA expands its Pro/ENGINEER installation to a total of 550 seats.

"Due to the fast implementation, which was made possible through the support of PTC, we can now follow through with the next
step of implementation six months earlier than originally planned," explained Dr. Geissinger, chairman of the company. He noted
that Pro/ENGINEER is the strategic software platform for product development at INA, which is a world leader in the development
of roller bearings, linear guides and engine elements for the automotive and heavy equipment industries.
