OTOT "The Millionaire Next Door"...I am reading it and it's amazing how wrong we can be (both for ourselves and others) in how we react when we have money.

Hi Freeus:

Yeah, we discussed that book here around last summer. The thread was split on what people thought of those who are excessively frugal (authors refer to them as prodigious accumulators of wealth).

My wife and I are already thinking about what to say and when to inform our daughter about her good fortune. We haven't come to a conclusion, except to keep her in the dark about the specifics going well into college. We don't want her to lose her drive; but we don't want to be disingenuous either. Interested to hear how Voop and others are planning to deal with this. IOW, you want the young-in's to be well off, but you don't want to spoil them.
Any bright ideas out there?
