Oh how Intels BS came home to roost this Q. Remember Intel stopped making some of the low end MHZ Celerons and the P-III 450s and sold a bunch of P-III-500s to E-machines? Gateway got the shaft.
OTOH, K6's would have fit nicely in GTWs $1000 range computers.
Meanwhile Compaq, e-machines etc. with the ISP rebates must have sold like hotcakes...whoa!
