Chimi,

You are correct. In the US, it is nearly impossible for an individual to short a stock under $5. Market makers, hedge funds, and other institutions can. In BB stocks,(and I'm not saying this is one) there is no disclosure required of market makers.

I understand that if you go off-shore or to Canada and you're willing to put up 200% margin, it can be done by individuals.
