billserv.com, Verbind Inc. Partner to Give Bills and Statements More Marketing Impact

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 5, 2000 - Monthly bills and statements will gain new marketing impact as a result of a partnership announced today between
billserv.com Inc., an electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) service bureau, and Verbind Inc., developer of LifeTime(tm), a real-time marketing
application.

The partnership will allow billserv.com customers to take advantage of Verbind's LifeTime application, which will be used to generate targeted marketing
messages on electronic bills and statements that billserv.com presents to bill payment front-ends such as CheckFree and TransPoint. The messages, including
highly targeted special offers, will be based on sophisticated LifeTime analysis of historical and real-time customer transaction data.

The partnership represents another example of a growing trend in the EBPP market to add more value to what had previously been routine, single-purpose
monthly billing and statement production services. These more frequent -- and relevant -- communications made possible through Verbind's LifeTime, will
enable billers to better understand their customers' needs and respond to them with timely offers.

"We believe LifeTime can add one-to-one marketing value to many of our customers as they begin deploying their EBPP systems this year," said David Jones,
co-founder and executive vice president of billserv.com. "We look forward to working with Verbind to help our customers get the most of what EBPP has to
offer, particularly in terms of using the latest Web technologies to better understand customer buying patterns and create greater customer loyalty."

Any biller that sends recurring bills can benefit from the billserv.com/Verbind partnership, including utilities, cable and telecommunications companies, the
financial services industry, and large volume print-house or paper-based service companies.

billserv.com allows billers to outsource their entire EBPP services and rely on the company to manage their billing systems, relationships and the delivery of
information to the many front-ends through which consumers may choose to view and pay bills. The addition of the LifeTime application leverages this
monthly point of customer contact by providing customized marketing information and offers that add value and extend the relationship in order to maximize
customer satisfaction and profitability.

"LifeTime's patented Behavior Mapping technology is ideally suited for this type of highly tailored communications," said Verbind CEO and President John
Kish. "Its ability to analyze historical and real-time customer data, as well as interpret customer behavior patterns that reveal needs, is unique in the industry
and represents a potent marketing tool for competitive advantage."
