RESEARCH ALERT - Xerox started as long-term buy January 5, 2000 09:37 AM NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. on Wednesday said it started investment coverage of copier giant Xerox Corp. XRX with long-term buy and short-term neutral ratings. -- Xerox announced a reorganization, including a management reshuffling, on Dec. 21 following its prediction of much lower fourth quarter earnings. -- Shares eased 1/16 to 23 in late morning NYSE trade.
