Sales figures Wednesday January 5, 5:47 pm Eastern Time Zany Brainy holiday sales surge KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Jan 5 (Reuters) - Toy retailer Zany Brainy Inc. said on Wednesday its total sales increased 45 percent and sales at stores open more than a year jumped 8 percent in the six weeks ended Dec. 25, 1999. Total sales for the period increased to $87.6 million from $60.5 million in the comparable period in 1998. Sales from the company's Website (http://www.ZanyBrainy.com) and its gift catalog are not included in comparable store results. ZanyBrainy.com, launched in mid-November, met demand with every in-stock item ordered through Dec. 22 being shipped to customers before Christmas.
