>>>to make sure their products get noticed>>>

I was looking to buy a digital camera with VxWorks inside. It is amazing to me that no one at Circuit City or MacWarehouse can tell me if the camera has VxWorks. It is not on the specs or anywhere. I finally called the WRS and found that the Kodak, Canon and Minolta's do have WRS software.

The company's strategy is to become pervasive but not persuasive, i.e. to not become a brand name. The OEM will be the recognized brand. The product is a Kodak, not a Wind River camera. Very different than with MSFT. I guess this puts the OEM in the spotlight and WRS takes the backstage. It's a very modest place to be, but it kinda makes sense.
