Z,

Sorry about the link. The New York Times can be a B when it comes to archiving their material. The article was in the 1/3/00 edition. Actually it was more a compilation of what these particular writers felt were the most "important" albums of the 20th century. Not really a top ten. I know the Stones were in the mix but I think it was "Beggar's Banquet" rather than "Exile on Main Street"....but I could be wrong. Dylan got a mention...I won't say which album, in case the resident Bobbyphile wants to take a guess.

Interesting lyrics to your Christmas song.

NL. I've got to admit that outside of an occasional channel flip over to MTV or VH1, I rarely listen to popular music anymore. I lost interest around the advent of the disco sound. I will say that the pitiful pleading tone of most popular ballads leaves me somewhat nauseated. This vocal style appears to have crept into the music scene around the mid 70's and has multiplied like a bunch of bunnies on Viagra :)

I must be getting old?
