Jim, why is it that I don't feel much remorse for boxmaker companies? Maybe it's because most of them do essentially no R&D, that is, they design almost nothing. They therefore take very little risk, like real high tech companies do, when those companies spend millions or billions developing products with no real guarantee that months or years later they will actually sell. All the boxmakers really have to figure out is purchasing and inventory control, and manufacturing, no, make that assembly. I don't call slapping PCs together manufacturing.
If these boxmakers don't wish to take on some risk and develop any intellectual property of their own to fall back on, why is it that I don't feel much remorse for them?
