<The "cold fusion" hoax is still getting some traction to this day....amazing. >

OT-Now that we have entered January, 2000, without a complete meltdown, or even a slight thaw, the professional hysterics must be casting about for something else that they need to save us from. I predict they will pick up and run with a subject that has already got the Europeans' dander up and that is genetically modified food. As if 5,000 years of agriculture and animal husbandry hasn't already given us genetically modified foods vastly different from anything found in nature. It has all the right players: mad scientists in secret labs tinkering with our DNA, greedy businesses sucking up profits at the cost of our health, etc.

Anyone else care to prognosticate?
