Well they may rise again :-))

However I am hearing that the Cyrix CPU's that VIA is hoping to launch may get to 300-400Mhz clock speed - not very competitive IMHO.

And using eithe National crappy fab or TSMC is not going to get them even remotely in the ballpark in 2000.

And by end of this year a 650-700Mhz chip will be "low end" and sell for $50.
