"If stocks continue to shine while fueling the
greatest economic bubble in history, the credit
market with its crowd of leveraged speculators
and derivatives players is in deep trouble.
The stock and bond markets, having held such
a tight friendship throughout this long bull
market, no longer see the world through the
same eyes. Times have changed. As far as the
bond market is concerned, the stock market
bubble must be pierced to save the credit
markets from serious crisis. The bond market
now scorns the Fed for failing miserably
to discipline the stock market. In fact,
not only are these two markets no longer
bosom buddies, they have become enemies."
