Actually, given all the media attention to Rockwell's product and many articles advising consumers to wait on buying a 56k modem until one version becomes the dominant technology, it wouldn't suprise me if USRX comes under earnings projections. But it is all expectations. If USRX can state that sales post-introduction of the x2 modem are strong and growing, the market will forgive a slight earnings shortfall.

I also believe that even without the merger with 3COM, USRX would have had a tough quarter because the PR machine Rockwell generated. It would be nice if the media woke up and realized that Rockwell has completely misled them concerning the introduction of their modems. USRX made sure that when it released its modem it worked, okay it was pretty damn close to 50k. Has there been any Rockwell modems re-introduced to the market after Motorolla recalled the initial modems it sold?
