How far into the future is it now before they will turn a profit?

Turning a profit on several billions in sales simply takes longer than it does on a few millions or even 100 millions. There are huge costs associated with building a customer base, distribution system, all the other infrastructure. This, while you're still not to your revenue target.

BEZOS is attempting to create a huge retail business over the course of several years. It is silly and unrealistic to expect it to be profitable in a year or two. Can you name another company that has done so?

The reality is that it will take another year or two. But the payoff will be there. If you can't wait, then I agree -- you SHOULD have your money somewhere else...

Like everyone else, I'd prefer to see the gross margin headed the right way. BUT THIS IS LIKE A HUGE LAND-GRAB. He who gets the loyal customer base will win the game -- and AMZN has taken this prize by a huge margin. It's not over yet...
